KARACHI: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has said that anti-corruption drive will continue till elimination of corrupt elements. In a statement issued here on Sunday, Chaudhry said that corruption is the biggest obstacle in the social and economic development of the country. “NAB is committed to perform its national duty with absolute professionalism, transparently and on merit for a corruption free Pakistan so that masses and business community can reap the dividends of progress,” he said. “NAB has developed an effective Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) catering the needs of all concerned having salient features of maintenance of data at each stage including complaint entry, complaint verification, inquiry, investigation, prosecution stage and record preservation of regional board meetings and executive board meetings including case briefing,” he added. The NAB chairman directed all regional bureaus to conduct complaint verification, inquiries and investigation as per laid down laws/SOPs. He said that it is encouraging that fight against corruption has been made a part of governance and development agenda. “It [NAB] has prosecuted corrupt elements and recovered 276 billion rupees since its inception and deposited in the national exchequer.” Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said that bureau was performing its duty with
