AIMAN INAM NEW DELHI: A recent study conducted here on asthma has revealed that yoga may have a favorable effect on asthmatics. However, the effects on lung function and medicines are yet to be ascertained. “The findings suggest that yoga exercise may lead to small improvements in asthmatics’ quality of life and symptoms,” said the lead author Dr Zuyao Yang from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The conclusion, that was drawn after numerous randomized tests, holds that to some extent, practicing yoga might be helpful for people suffering from asthma. On the other hand, scientists emphasized that advanced researches would be required to draw any concrete conclusions apropos the effects of yoga. Researchers have reported the results in the Cochrane Library today.
