ISLAMABAD: The Chairman, Parliamentary Committee for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Mushahid Hussain Sayed said on Tuesday that CPEC will result in strong relations between both countries. Sayed, while paying glowing tributes to the Communist Party of China, said that China has done a fabulous job by lifting out six hundred million Pakistani people out of poverty within few years. He said CPEC is a centerpiece of Beijing’s One-Belt One-Road Initiative, meant to open new trade and transport routes across Asia. Earlier last week, Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastagir Khan said that the visionary initiative of “One Belt-One Road,” aims to revive the fabled Silk Road, will bridge social, economic and cultural gaps within regions in an open and inclusive manner. Dastagir said Pakistan’s partnership with China would help fight the menace of poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, malnutrition and disease in the region. The Minister termed China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a flagship project of the “One Belt One Road” initiative. “CPEC will serve as the strongest pillar of economic, commercial and cultural connectivity between the two countries for many decades to come,” Dastagir said adding that Corridor will combine China’s financial and industrial capacity and technological prowess with Pakistan’s plentiful resources.
