KARACHI: Muttahida Qoumi Movement (MQM)’s workers entered the office of a private news channel after exiting Karachi Press Club here on Monday. According to details, dozens of political workers belonging to the political party stormed the office of a TV channel and surrounded the channel’s office at Madina City Mall at Abdullah Haroon Road Karachi. The move comes shortly after MQM announced holding protests in front of news channels in protest against the lack of coverage of the party’s ongoing sit-in at the press club. Gunshots were also heard in the area, where markets and shops were closed. The enraged workers torched the police van at Fawara Chowk. Earlier, MQM chief Altaf Hussain announced to quit the party leadership ‘once again’ and shifted the helm of affairs to Dr. Farooq Sattar. However, entreaties of the party workers forced him to withdraw his decision. It should be mentioned here that Altaf Hussain was addressing the hunger strike camp in progress at Karachi Press Club (KPC).
