M. M. ALAM PESHAWAR: Reportedly Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the assassination of doctor, TV anchor, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) politician Sardar Soran Singh. Reacting to the incident PTI Chief Imran Khan tweeted: “Shocked at murder of PTIs KP MPA and Minorities Minister Soran Singh. KP govt must immediately set up inquiry. A great loss for all of us”. Elected from district Buner MPA Sardar Soran Singh was special assistant to Pervez Khattak Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Minorities’ Affairs. Before joining PTI in 2011 he was associated with Jamaat’e’Islami for almost a decade. According to the district police chief Khalid Hamadani gunmen riding on two bikes appeared before his car and shot him dead on the spot near Pir Baba in Buner district on Friday. Though KP government had provided him security he often used to travel to Buner without any protocol. A considerable number of Sikhs live in KP. It is pertinent to mention here that some three years ago another MPA of PTI was shot dead in Hangu.
